MYCELIUM
The mycelium incubator is a contained system, which propagates the growth of mycelium. Mycelium is the fast growing hyphae root system of mushrooms, which creates a plastic/foam like material. It can be mixed with waste produce, such as coffee grounds, and grown into forms. By creating bio based alternatives to harmful materials such as plastic, we can enter into a new bio era where we grow what we consume, making us symbiotic with our environment and reducing our negative impact.

PRIMAL TOOLS

A set of tools to allow the use of
raw materials as beauty products
The beauty industry contributes to a high volume of virgin plastic production, even though the throw away rate is hugely extensive because of the short life span of the products. Instead we should think of creating relationships with objects to enable reuse and redefine the material utilisation of our beauty products. Primal Tools includes a series of carefully designed and intuitive forms made from natural materials inspired by stone age craftsmanship. The tools have been designed to allow raw materials to be processed into usable forms applied to the body. One form is for the processing of seaweed, from harvesting to grinding, allowing it to be spread on the skin as a nutrient rich solution. Whilst another, peels and juices lemons to utilise them as a deodoriser. Primal Tools inspire beauty from everyday natural materials and bi-products.
