MYCELIUM
The mycelium incubator is a contained system, which propagates the growth of mycelium. Mycelium is the fast growing hyphae root system of mushrooms, which creates a plastic/foam like material. It can be mixed with waste produce, such as coffee grounds, and grown into forms. By creating bio based alternatives to harmful materials such as plastic, we can enter into a new bio era where we grow what we consume, making us symbiotic with our environment and reducing our negative impact.

ELEPLANT
Compostable Construction Toy
This group project aims to encourage children to recycle and teach them about plants. The product itself is simply made from sheet paper pulp material with seeds embedded into it. This sheet is then cut into shapes that the children can then use to build their animal. Therefore not only does this toy encourage children to plant but also develops their creativity. The toy market is saturated with plastic products which are highly unsustainable so there is a gap in the market for a sustainable toy. It also has a short lifespan as when children grow up they quickly get bored of products. When this happens they are able to plant this in their garden where it will flourish and grow leaving a memory of their childhood.
